EMS Week Proclamation 2024
Councilmember Alter presented an EMS Week 2024 Proclamation at City Hall.
EMS Week 2024 runs from May 19-25 and marks the 50th Anniversary of EMS Week. This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Past. Forging Our Future,” reminds us to acknowledge the foundational work of those who came before us, while also striving to build and lead the EMS system we envision for our future. In the 50 years since we’ve been celebrating EMS Week, our profession has made enormous strides in pre-hospital care, data collection, emergency management and community-based healthcare. We’ve developed comprehensive EMS systems that are ready for any kind of emergency-seven days a week, 24 hours a day-whether or not that includes going to the hospital.
EMS Week is the time we honor the entire EMS profession and its importance in protecting the safety and health of our citizens. Our country’s EMS professionals serve in a broad range of roles, from providing highly skilled care in an ambulance, to serving as educators, to practicing community paramedicine, to conducting research. These individuals are dedicated to improving emergency medical services on numerous levels and are helping to advance the vision of EMS Agenda 2050, that of a data-driven, evidence-based, people-centered EMS system.

What is demand 2? What is the difference between D2 and a regular ambulance
That’s so awesome ! What are the requirements to become the motorcycle EMS? lol
50 medics right here.
Thank you.

Hi
Unfortunately, the only way to address that is to attack the underlying problems associated with chronic health problems…Austin, fortunately is one of the few progressive regions in a very conservative state. If any region in the south can address those problems, it’s Austin/ Travis County. The people there actually care about poverty, racial inequality, minority rights, underemployment, and unemployment…which lead to these chronic health problems…fixing a broken healthcare system means repairing a broken social safety net and actually caring about your neighbor…even if they look or believe differently than you.
Awesome agency ❤
Thank you for Helping everyone
Can yall take a video of yall showing off yalls new atcems ford explorer with lights?😫🙏
Were ATCEMS of of course with the best department in Austin Texas
Do we only use the dodge ram ambulance or do use other ones?
Yeah, that guy at the back is stuck.. looks like hes aleady getting paid 😂
This is exactly what I wish we could see in my city and all across the US, a metropolitan third-service EMS system, not private companies that run ambulances or fire departments that take up the roles of EMS providers. A comprehensive, community-based EMS system is something I dream of... but in all seriousness, EMS is in desperate need of being recognized as an essential service, and one completely separate and independent from the currently recognized Police and Fire. We deserve a government funded service that ensures the quality of emergency medical services delivered to the community as well as the working conditions and the pay that EMS clinicians receive. EMTs and Paramedics who work in private ambulance companies are grossly underpaid and both private services and fire-based EMS are overwhelmed by the current demand for ambulance services. Shoutout to ATCEMS for this amazing system in place!
Can EMTs be part of the tactical team?
Most likely not. There’s nothing EMTs could offer in that setting. Your medical skills need to be at least the paramedic level.
Gender equity? Nice woke propaganda you learned there.
That's so interesting. Sudden arrest with no known cause. Glad she's alive and doing awesome!
What’s the difference between one of your Medic and one of your Demand units?
They should really add a Q siren to the aid car
Love the buell horn!!!
It's a Dodge ram
@@911_FROST the horn
@@rabidholiginDraco oh nvm
Can anyone tell me the kind of and/or brand of radio chest harness the paramedic was wearing at the very beginning of the video? Thanks!
While describing how the new station has individual dorm spaces, you show us a double bedroom. ?? If you can't see the potential problem with that then it's time to reassess your leadership training.
Relax....Typically only one of the beds will be used. It also allows the oncoming crew member to place their belongings on their bed, and if the off going crew member had a rough night, they can take a safety nap. I don't work there....But where I am, we have the ability to turn off alerts in the bedroom so that we can sleep in before driving home without interruptions.
they can't even get these folks to understand where a name badge goes on a uniform. Attention to detail is important smh
I live in the wheeling village trailer park on the edge of town. Hire me and we can park the ambulance on my dirt driveway during the shift!
Interested in applying, are there any minimum standards for physical fitness in the academy? Great video!
Love it
Bee cave?!? 🐝
That's hilarious....😂
I can’t wait to be a EMT then be able To drive that ATCEMS ford explore utility😎
This is exactly how EMS should be. It should be a career that takes pride in itself because it hold the providers to a high mental and physical standard. I absolutely love EMS, but am so sad that these standards are not THE standard. Running EMS in PA is nowhere near like this. My company tries and is ahead of others, but not nearly to this level.
who is the freek with the stoopid hair? dont want her touching anyone i care about.
Will you do an interview with one of these folks?
arnt you guys supposed to be out saving lives and not making shitty wannabe tiktok videos?
You know that there is time between calls right?
@@Izak213 yeah of course but I worked at a grocery store and you know what I did in between ringing up customers? I can tell it it wasnt making tiktoks it was doing more work. If I didnt have the time to do this when all I was doing was giving people their food how the fuck do they have the time to do this retarded shit? Its not a good look. Funny we only see this type of shit from America... I wonder why?
Haha. We’re ATCEMS, of course we have a full time PIO section!
You think that there’s always something going on?
@@ATCEMS😂😂😂 love it.
Wait, who are y’all with?
Austin Travis County, Texas
Why was no one pulling over to the side???
This is how it is now, at least where I live. A few years ago, people used to try so hard to get out of the way it was actual pandemonium. Now people don't care about litterally anything as long as they know they won't get in trouble with the law. I used to believe in people before I saw this, and no one stopping at stop signs, and the people constantly stealing, or begging for your money without even saying thank you, but now I don't. Least you can do it try to be a half decent exaple to these people, but sadly they have closed eyes to all but their own problems.

Is the van a frontline unit or a special events only ambulance?
Special event only. Thanks for asking!
Nice!!
Tactical paramedics? 😂
whats funny?
Yes, part of the APD & TCSO SWAT teams.
Nice masks.
It’s a video from 2020…
Iio oi
4K FULL HD
It’s sad that you are following them through the traffic light just to get past the traffic
It's so painful to hear y'all struggling to breathe in those masks.😢
Yeah, they really bought into it.
Yeah they’re really not…
LOL no one is struggling. If you struggle to breath through a cloth or surgical mask, you need to work on your cardio.
@@LKS-1976 Yeah, it's almost like when you take care of sick people, you should take proper steps to ensure your safety and your patient's safety.
I see ATCEMS os useing Motor Cycles now....im guessing as 1st responders....😂😂😂
Austin EMS is the airforce civilian equivalent to thier PJ's- Pararescueman Medics

Thanks ✌️
And a lot of fentanyl. Although this one was not.
Is that station typical of your facilities?
